“Susanne White said that the main challenge in casting Sylvia was finding someone who could carry dialogue with Sylvia’s intelligence and speed of thought. They were very keen on Rebecca Hall from the outset, and having read for the part, Rebecca was desperate to do it even though fitting it into her schedule was extremely difficult. In the end she shot all of her scenes in one entire half of the production.”
