Absolute Powers: What The Hour Could Learn from Homeland:
Yes, yes, let’s hold one woman’s accomplishments up to another and then say that one is failing while the other is succeeding - that’s celebrating women, that’s cheering on feminism! Because obviously we’re all in competition with each other, and have to desire and achieve the same things.
I might also add that The Hour takes place in 1956 and Homeland takes place in 2011 - I don’t even think I have to outline how women’s roles have changed since then, and the fact that Bel Rowley’s accomplishments for her time period are astronomical.
