Yesterday I went to Lille, specially to meet Don Rosa, special guest of the little convention Lille Comics Festival. A lot of people went to see him too and I had a lithography with a signature. I’m not disappointed to not have a drawing because I mostly want to meet him, give him a kiss and tell him how wonderful he is and thank him.
I was kind of emotional because Don Rosa is one of my favorite artist of all time and I use to read “The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck” almost every night when I was a 12 or 13. I looked at his pages, thinking about how splendid his art is and when I do my comics now I always think about how I liked to look at his detailed backgrounds.
I wrote him a letter he took to read later and my friend Renan who was with me (the truth is he told me about the event and I follow him) take this picture ! I’m very glad to have the chance to meet one of my master : )
